Surfing (as always)

I went out surfing yesterday after work, the waves were huge! (At least for me they were). By the time I had paddled out, I was so freakin exhausted that it took my forever to catch a wave. I actually only ended up catching 2 in the hour and a half I was out there, but they were awesome. My last wave I caught, rode it until it reformed, rode that, then rode the white water right onto the beach where i then hopped off my board. Incidentally, I really impressed these two guys with my oober cool dismount (they had riddin in and fallen off their boards).

Random update on my life

This weekend was busy.Saturday i went out on a date with Denny, but got a headache, that was not so much fun. However, I was able to definintely figured out that i am in no way attracted to him. I need to have 'the talk' at some point. I hate that talk. It makes me feel like such a jerk, like I've wasted their time or something. Grossness. Sunday was better, I walked around the park before going to work and found a place that teaches free kung fu! They meet every sunday @ 10 near the international cottages, anyone want to come with me next sunday? I went to work and got paid double since it was so damn busy, coolness yes? and then i went surfing and caught three really perfect waves. There was this beautiful guy that i totatlly fell in love with. Until he got in my way and i ended up missing this really great wave, i'm not in love with him anymore. Oh, and i have classified and ranked the seaweed.(This list goes from most feared to least feared)1. The fuzzies - these are the long, rope like fuzzy seaweed. 2. The slimies - these are the kelp, with the large leaves and air sacs.3. The grass - this is sea grass. I then went up to Poway and hung out w/Maddy. We had flautas and played pool, it was really funny. We accidentally played a bevis and butthead song, and the whole place knew it. She won our tournament (3 games) by default. It was cool. I wish i got to see her more, i don't get enough random funnies in my life now that we don't see each other as much.Monday was cool too. I went on a 5 mile hike in torrey pines w/Karol, a volunteer from work. I felt all healthy.Then i went up to poway and got ready for the party, well, maddy did most of that. we ended up having about 10 or so people, more girls then guys :). It was really fun. we played marco polo, poker and this really funny game called 'psychiatrist'. the party went from 5 to about 11:30, i'm really tired, but it was worth it.

At Last....

At last, I am done with finals. I had my last one at 8pm yesterday. I'm kinda sad about that one, that was a great class. I'm going to try and stay in touch with that teacher. Still, it's great to be finished with the semester. When I was done, I decided to go surfing. The water was sooo warm (way warmer than the pool I had jumped in earlier). It was surreal. It was dark, i was the only one out there, I could see lights all up and down the coast, but i could barely make out the waves. I think that once i get over my fear of random darkness i'll be doing that kind of surfing a lot. At least in the summer. Anyone want to be my night time surfing buddy?

School and such

I want to start, and become president of, 'The National Straw Council', or maybe 'The International Straw Council' if it doesn't already exist. Then I could travel the Globe promoting Straw use, straw safety and general strawness. Do you think the straw industry would sponsor me? Would anyone want to be my VP and/or treasurer? You probably wouldn't get to travel, you'd just be doing all the paper work. But think of how good that will look on your Resume...It's the last two weeks of the semester, and I'm totally stressing. I always do. I really just want to be done with it already. My last final is on wednesday night. I'll be happier after that. I saw a post, and I want to reply, but I'm not sure that I should. I don't know if the person wants to talk to me since they haven't added me as their friend...I haven't been surfing in so long. I get to go this weekend though. Saturday is a surfing/sleep in day (I don't have work until 6ish) anyone want to come with me?I've decided that all falling in love does is fuck with people. Even the couples that are good, aren't, not really. I know I'll probably end up falling in love, I just hope it doesn't happen any time soon. I'm to damn busy for that nonesense.I'll just have to wait until I'm 25 I guess...Grr, I'm tired and hungry. Anyone want to post another of those online questionnaires? I'm really bored.

I'm totally stressing. Finals are fast approaching and all of my final projects/essays are due next week. I am no where near finished with any of them. Actually, I haven't even started my 'Bible as Literature' essay. I worry about earning a 'C' in one of my classes, which, I guess, is better then worrying over failing one of my classes. It is still stressful. I also worry over law school and the like. I think want to become a lawyer, or a teacher, but I'm not sure. I had better decide, because it would be rather silly to go to law school if I don't plan on practicing. At the same time, I'm not so sure I'd make such a great teacher. What are my other options? I don't want to do admin. work for the rest of my life, that's for damn sure. But what kind of career am I really cut out for? Everyone keeps telling me not to worry I have time, but I don't have all that much time in reality. I know I have two or so more years of undergrad, but that's not really all that much. I'll have to start applying to grad schools in about year. Also, when we get back from the road trip, I'll have to start worrying about rent. I'm kinda looking forward to doing the whole independent thing, but it's a little scary and I'm worried I won't be able to pay for school and my insurance. That's another thing, I don't know what's going on with the car. I have that registration ticket that I need to take care of, but it's not my car! I'll have to see about driving up to Redlands, I guess. I just wish I could remember what it was like to feel well rested....

misc. surfing stuff

I love surfing and being in the Ocean, but I'm kinda freaked. I really don't want to get stung by a stingray or jelly fish or bitten by a shark. I kinda freak when I'm in the water if I have to put my feet down. Also, I really, really, really don't want to run into Miguel. That'd be way awkward, but I'm not willing to change beaches. I shouldn't have to change beaches just because he's stupid. Anyway, I'll get over it soon, I just needed to vent.

general updates

I got my stingray sting checked out and the podiatrist said that: no, there is not stinger. yes, it is infected. yes, once the infection has run it's course it will still hurt. for 3 months. and he threw the word 'excruciating' in there too. bloody stingrays.but on a more positive note, i went to a padres game at the new stadium on sunday. it was so much fun, i thought i didn't like watching sports, but i like them live. and i have a favorite baseball player. #24 right field, Giles. we had a tailgate party before hand, and that was yummy and fun and then during the game we had dippin' dots ice cream which was cool. the padre's lost, but that's okay, it was still way fun.my car is happy, the sun roof is down so it was able to have a bath. it needed one.johns b-day is today. he's 21, the lucky prick.Happy B-Day!

Okay, so i get that people think I'm a tease, i'm not damn it. I just don't know what im doing and im curious but so damn afraid of everything, not just relationships but life in general. i've had to re-think a lot of different things about who i am and what im doing over the past couple of years. romantic relationships have taken a back seat in 'figure out what the hell this is all about' department of my life. so deal. im trying now, i really am, but jesus so what if i mess up every once in awhile and freak out, im trying and im also trying to get the rest of my fucking life in order while i do it.

Stingrays!

So, I went surfing the other day, and the worst thing ever* happened to me. I got stung by a stingray. I was getting out of the water and it stung me. It felt like a needle going into my foot. I walked out and tried to convince myself i had just stepped on a rock, but my foot started to burn really bad. I decided to drive myself up to scripps and go to the urgent care there (i know my insurance works there) only i forgot about rush hour traffic. that sucked. i finally got to urgent care*I realize many worse things could in fact have happened - i.e. shark attack, drowning, struck by lightning, helicopter landing on me, seeing billy bob thorton in speedos.... Dolphins!

So, I went surfing today, and the coolest thing ever happened. I gazed out into the ocean and saw some dolphins, that was neat. I lost track of them for a bit, trying to catch some waves. Then, a whole bunch of them were around me. I'm talking at least six wild bottle nose dolphins, the closest one was two feet from the front of my board! I could see it's blow hole and hear them exhaling. They played around me for a few minutes before taking off. It's really funny because I had just been thinking how much I wanted a cool dolphin story (every surfer I've talked to has at least one). It was awesome, definantly a top ten moment in my life. *sigh* I'm so hooked on surfing.

Ya! my teacher called back. She totally disagreed with my thesis and only had a few words to change about it. (it's good she disagreed, this is a policy change/persuasive essay and everyone's supposed to disagree). My thesis is:All U.S. college instructors should be required to give students who are employed more than 40 hours a week extensions on project deadlines.she was impressed with the term 'project deadlines' as opposed to 'homework' she thought i had taken a really long time to think that up. i just let her keep on thinking that. i have no freaking way how im gonna prove this.

Failure

I forgot to call my teacher today by noon, which was my hw assignment. I have tons of excuses why I didn't call on time, all of them good, none of them good enough to make me feel better. I'm really worried the teacher won't call back, and my grade will be screwed if that's the case. This whole week I've only been gettin 4-5 hours of sleep a night, so I feel like crap and I've been up since 6 this morning (I started work an hour early, so for my admin job I'm working 9 hr shift) and then I have to go to the globe and put in a 4-5 hour shift there. I know I chose to do all this, just like I chose to cut my schedule so that i no longer work mon and wed. Except now i feel like this total loser who's not working enough. which is absolutely ridiculous, but there ya go. just another day at work

I've got work all day today, from 8:00 in the morning to about 10:30 at night. I don't really mind, I guess. I'm making money and I'll be using it to go to New York. It's hard to believe that I'll be traveling around for a month all the way across the country, it seems like to big of a dream. I should get started planning it with John, but i'm kinda afraid he won't end up going. What is it about love that makes otherwise logical individuals do crazy freaking things? Shouldn't love make you smarter and stronger? Shouldn't it be this great thing where your life is better for it? but for most people I see, that's not the way it is. It's as if people stop seeing the difference between a relationship that has problems and a relationship that is a problem. Ah well, I feel better for having vented.

I went surfing today, and now I'm stalling on the cleaning and homework aspects of life. I have to get everything done today since I'm working or have plans for the rest of the week. I love that my life is busy and full now, but sometimes it scares the crap out of me. It's almost like it's someone elses life and I'm sort of filling in while they're gone. Except, I can't fill in for to long becuase I'm not cut out for this sort of thing. The fast pace and all this freedom. I'm afraid that I'll screw it up and then they'll come back and hate me. Well, cherry oh then.
